We are currently looking to install a new 18-hole, free-to-play, disc golf course in Lilford Park!
We have permission to install the baskets and tees - we're now looking for volunteers to help and funding to get the baskets and tee pads in the ground!
We've designed a course (our wonderful volunteer Iain has done this single handedly!) and now we're looking for volunteers.
Our plan is to run open days, gather local support (like we did at Longford Park), run some installation days and get some funding. Manchester Disc Golf will help seed the course but we'd love a local splinter group to take ownership and build the community.
Come join us at an open day or one of our volunteer labour days.
Our next Open Day is April 27th 11am - 5pm for more details see our Facebook event.
Or - email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll add you to our mailings.
There are currently three test baskets in place and three tee pads. These are mostly the "green" tee positions for beginners. You can play these now - the picture below shows the position and the playable paths are marked. We're hoping to get full funding to put all 18 baskets with a red and blue tee position for all along with an 9-hole beginner friendly course too!
We have our next open day 27th April, 11am - 5pm for more details see our Facebook event.
9 Fully playable holes will be in place (using portable baksets). Click here for a course map of the temporary course.
Remember there are only 3 test baskets in the ground at the moment so it might not be worth a long journey unless we're running an open day with extra portable baskets to make a playable course.
The guided busway runs right past the park (and close to some of our proposed holes!). Take the V1 from Manchester Piccadilly to the park!
Free parking is available at the entrance of the park.
Just head for the entrance just off Elmridget off The Avenue (follow the signs for Lilford Park, postcode WN7 1JE).See it on Google Maps
